Wasted day

Today’s guest picture shows a vineyard in South Africa.  It was kindly sent to me by Langholm exile Tom.

South African vineyardWe had a day of very pleasant sunny weather herertoo but as I spent pretty well all day in bed recovering from a vicious attack by a bug overnight,  I didn’t get any use out of it at all.

My son and daughter in law in Edinburgh are also laid up with up with the same bug .  This is a great difficulty to them with Matilda to look after.

Mrs Tootlepedal is still coughing a bit so she missed the church choir and we both missed the Carlisle choir practice.

Thanks go to everyone who wished me a happy birthday.  It was a good day but I could wish that the happiness had lasted longer than 24 hours.

I took one brief look out of the kitchen window.

  1. So sorry you had such a nasty bug and hope you have got rid of it by tomorrow. So sorry for the Edinburgh family too. Well done for posting what you did.

  2. A day doing virtually nothing is a common thing for many of us and not of great concern – though not you I think – but one where you’re just feeling groggy, and concerned for the next two generations as well, is really rotten. Hope you’re all feeling better really soon.

  3. And still you post for the day – now that’s dedication. Get well soon – very soon – don’t want to jeopardize your knee date!

  4. Very sorry indeed about the nasty bug and hope you and the Edinburgh contingent get well really soon!

  5. Sympathies. It’s the season. All the Menger family have had forms of the lurgy. Get well soon to you and the Edinburgh lot.
