Tickling toes

Today’s guest picture comes from my sister Mary who visited Little Venice with Venetia, my Somerset correspondent a day or two ago.

Once again my sisters Susan and Mary are kindly putting us up during our stay in London.

The weather wasn’t so cheerful today as it was in the guest picture and Mrs Tootlepedal and I crossed the river to visit our daughter Annie and granddaughter Evie in chilly and damp conditions.

However we got a warm welcome when we arrived.

Mrs Tootlepedal has made a small model in needle felt of Annie’s cat Smudge and Smudge was very interested to see it.

We had a very enjoyable time tickling toes and doing all the things that doting grandparents do when visiting the world greatest baby.

Mrs Tootlepedal took some time out to make a birthday cake as it is Annie’s birthday tomorrow and we will be back again then to help her celebrate it.

No flying bird but in its place I have put Annie’s wonderful arbutus tree which saw many flying birds visit it while we were there today.

  1. Adore both the cats! Delighted to read that toes have been tickled and no doubt cooing noises sounded all around. All your singing practice will be put to grand use tomorrow when you wish your daughter the happiest of birthdays.

  2. Happy belated birthday to Annie. A fine cat by Mrs. T, and I love that photo of the Arbutus unedo tree. There are a few here in our area, too, planted as ornamentals.
