The chief business of the day was a visit by Mrs Tootlepedal’s brother and his wife for lunch.
The lunch went well and Evie enjoyed meeting her great aunt and great uncle.
The day was too hot for anything energetic so after the visitors left, we took the rest of the day very gently.

Not even the shady garden could tempt us to do anything useful.
We go home tomorrow on the hottest day of the year so far. We hope that the air conditioning on the train is working.
Very hot here also. Early morning fitness walk and that was it.
I took things very quietly while I was down in the hot south.
Too bad the weather is so hot, but what a lovely cool green place. Safe travels!
We are back in the cool north again now. We won’t dare to complain if it is cold for the time of year. 🙂
Horribly hot here in Kansas, USA, too. Over 100 degrees, but at least humidity is 37%. Fingers crossed for comfortable train ride.
It wasn’t too humid when we were in London which was a blessing. It got over 90 degrees which is very hot for us. I wouldn’t like to face your 100 degrees.
I am dreading the heat when it does start here. More rain coming in tonight, and it is overcast at this time.
We started pole bean seeds in containers today, which will buy some time until I can get that section of garden ready.
Glad you had an enjoyable family lunch.
Good luck with your travels today.
We are back in the cooler north and happy to be there.
This looks like a beautifully cool place to sit in the garden.
It was relatively cool under the circumstances. 🙂
Good luck with your journey and the air-con on the train.
Certainly not a day to be returning. I hope it is as comfortable as possible
It went very well, thank you.
Phew
Hope the journey home is a good one…it’s cooler in Scotland…I believe!
A lot. 15 when we got back compared with 30 when we left London.
Wow!
