Today’s guest picture comes from our son Alistair in Edinburgh. His family went to enjoy the lights at the Botanic Gardens again this year. We went to East Wemyss by way of the Queensferry Crossing, a bridge which looks implausibly slender as you approach it, but which turns out to have very solid fastenings. Tony

Today’s picture which really belongs to yesterday is a shot of the moon from my bedroom window just after midnight.  The new lens justified itself. There was no cycling today, although it was another fine, sunny day.  I might have had an hour to go out early on but it was blowing a freezing wind
